Has been servicing the Rockingham and surrounding areas for over twenty years. Our client base is wide spread and includes the outer areas of Rockingham, Perth, interstate and overseas.
At Sound Tax we pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive service that will assist the growth of your business or individual investments, as well as a commitment to minimising your tax liability. The team, on the whole, has excellent qualifications together with real life experiences that can assist the client to initiate, sustain, then build and grow their businesses.
Our services are varied and include (but not limited to) all types of tax return preparation, Bookkeeping services, Business Advice, Defence Force Employees Tax Return Preparation, Business Activity Statement returns, Self Managed Super Funds, Preparation of Financial Statements and Financial Planning. The practice has a number of qualified accountants and excellent support staff. The team maintains a high level of continued professional development and has a professional affiliation with the Institute of Public Accountants and the National Tax & Accountants’ Association, to name a few.

Our Team
Mark Vernal
Mark is passionate about motivating clients to follow their vision and reach their potential. He started from a small office in Safety Bay and uses his entrepreneurial experience to help clients grow their businesses.
Mark has a Master of Commerce, is a registered Tax Agent, a registered Australian and Investment Securities Commission (ASIC) Agent and a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants.
He has three children and spends his spare time with his family, playing football and keeping fit.

Dario Della Vecchia
Dario is our resident expert in Self Managed Super Funds. He is the go to person for all of your self managed super fund questions, administration, and tax compliance. If you are looking at starting a self managed fund or need some more information make a booking with him today.
Dario enjoys spending time out and about with his family. He also keeps up-to-date with most technology trends making sure our practice uses the latest cutting edge tools to help our clients achieve success.
Director
Derek Robinson
Derek has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, with a double major in Accounting & Accounting Technologies. He is our expert in corporation tax compliance, ASIC administration, and all other corporation related topics. If you need help with setups and information, Derek is your go to guide.
Derek is also experienced is all MYOB software (including Business Lite/ Pro, Payroll & AccountRight), he is also very capable in Xero and QuickBooks software.

Lesley-Anne O’Neill
Lesley has been a member of Sound Tax & Accounting team since 2021, she started her accounting journey in 2015 with a Certificate III and advanced to completing her Bachelor Degree of Business and majoring in accounting. Lesley has over 6 years of experience in tax accounting, with experience in MYOB, Reckon & Xero.
Lesley has a passion for helping individuals and small to medium businesses, with her vast knowledge of accounting practices. Lesley ensures that our clients are well looked after and understand their implication while helping them to adhere to the taxation laws, specialising in Fringe Benefits Taxes (FBT), and payroll related matters.

Carlie Jackson
Carlie has been with Sound Tax and Accounting since 2006. Her friendly and welcoming demeanour sets you at ease from the moment you enter her office.
As a result of Carlie completing her Diploma of Accounting, Carlie is now able to assist in preparation of your tax returns to produce the best possible outcome efficiently. With the introduction of Single Touch Payroll, Carlie is our go to girl, who will be able to assist you with all your payroll needs, and expertise with tax return compliance.

Brinda Chatun joined our team in 2024 as a dedicated and enthusiastic accountant, quickly establishing herself as an expert in BAS and GST related matters, alongside bookkeeping and general tax compliance.
With strong bookkeeping expertise and a talent for meticulous tax return preparation, Brinda consistently delivers accurate and efficient results for our clients. Passionate about continuous learning, she stays abreast of the latest tax updates, bringing fresh insights to the firm, particularly in the complex area of capital gains tax.

Sandra Tonkin
Sandra is the first person who welcomes you when you step into the office and greets you on the phone. She has extensive administration experience and is more than happy to help you with any query you may have, direct you to the right person or make appointments for you.
She also liaises with the Australian Tax Office and provides bookkeeping to all our accountants. Her hands-on work ethic approach ensures that she obtains the knowledge of your business to deliver excellent record keeping.
